Bridging the Christian Divide

Bridging the Christian Divide

Mar 11, 2023

We often hear about the digital divide and the importance of ensuring that everyone has equal access to technology. While this is certainly an important issue, there is another divide that is even more critical. This divide is the Christian Divide.

As a Christian, I believe that it is our duty to share the good news of the Gospel with others and help bridge the gap between those who have not yet received salvation. Just as the digital divide can prevent people from accessing important resources and opportunities, the Christian divide can keep people from experiencing the love and grace of God as well as the gift of eternal life.

Do you remember Tony Brown, from Tony Brown’s Journal? Brown said, "The real divide in America is not between black and white, rich and poor, or even Democrats and Republicans. It is between the 'haves' and the 'have nots' - those who have access to education, resources, and opportunities, and those who do not." He would go on to say that having access to technology would also be a determining factor between the two.

Just as Tony Brown advocated for providing technology and digital skills training in African American communities in the 90’s, we must also work to ensure that everyone has access to the Gospel and the resources they need to deepen their faith.

One way to bridge the Christian divide is through evangelism and outreach programs. These programs can take many forms, from sharing the Gospel with friends and family members to volunteering at local community centers and charities. By reaching out to those in need and sharing the message of salvation, we can help break down barriers and bring people closer to God.

Another important way to bridge the Christian divide is through education and discipleship. Just as technology training can help people develop new skills and access new opportunities, Christian education can help people deepen their faith and build a stronger relationship with God. This can take many forms, from Bible study groups to online courses and resources.

Crossing the Christian divide is about building relationships and sharing the love of God with others. It's about reaching out to those in need, breaking down barriers, and working together to build a stronger, more inclusive community of believers. Just as Tony Brown worked to bridge the digital divide, we must work to bridge the Christian divide and ensure that everyone has equal access to the love and grace of God.
